About Us

Jim Murphy

Jim is the Owner of River City Software Development, LLC as well as the lead software developer.  He is an expert in the Software Development Life Cycle using Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D) methods.  Jim has over 17 years experience in the development of database-driven applications of all sizes.  He is highly versatile, having worked on large multi-million dollar enterprise systems with Database Clusters and Web Farms to small weekend ‘get-me-out-of-trouble’ projects.

Jim has built a strong reputation for rapid development without sacrifice.  He is committed to quality and is a firm believer in thorough testing.  Although Jim is highly technical, he has the ability speak ‘business’ to business people, and “geek speak” to technical staff, often playing the role of translator to facilitate effective communication between the two.  Specializing in Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, C#, VB.NET, XML, and Reporting.  Jim is an MVP for Iron Speed Designer and an early adopter of this rapid development product.  Jim is at times called upon to act as an expert witness in software-related legal cases.

David Castillo MCTS

With his certification in Microsoft SQL Server 2005, David is an excellent SQL Server DBA and SQL Programmer.  He will not only keep your shop running and your databases online, but he constantly finds new ways to automate the administration of your databases, allowing him to make positive steps forward to ensure things are well organized.  His deep knowledge of indexes, query plans, performance profiling and blocking resolution allows him to unjam most any client issue.  He has built a variety of versatile Database Solutions with solid Integrity, Maintenance, Optimization, and Security strategies.  David is also our SQL Reporting Services go-to guy.  He is excellent at upsizing Access databases to SQL Server, converting reports, etc.
